Most traditional greenhouses are made from a steel or wooden frame. These structures are usually covered with acrylic or glass. While these greenhouses will last a lifetime, they are not portable nor can they be taken down without some damage.
A PVC greenhouse uses PVC pipes to create a frame. The frame is lightweight and can easily be picked up and moved from one side of the yard to the other. The pipe is flexible making it easy to work with and easy to assemble.
Typically a PVC greenhouse is covered in plastic sheeting called polyethylene film. The film is easy to install and is also lightweight. One disadvantage of the film is that it can be punctured easily, but this is not too much of a problem because it is simple to replace the tear with another sheet. These types of greenhouses are great for those who don’t want to build a lasting structure on their land.
