Greenhouse Aquatics

A greenhouse creates a miniature environment that is much different from the weather outside. Greenhouse aquatics take advantage of this wet environment to grow some exotic or difficult to grow plants in very harsh environments. Water still evaporates in these environments, actually more than outside the house, but it is not allowed to blow away or rise into the atmosphere keeping the interior moist and humid.

This can allow for some very complex greenhouse aquatics such as large ponds for growing water loving plants. As more greenhouses are being attached right onto houses many people use them as living spaces, indoor gardens, with decorative additions, possibly even fish or other aquatic creatures in the pool. The addition of a fountain can make the space even more tranquil and enjoyable.

The most useful of all greenhouse aquatics is a hydroponic growing system. Roots are immersed in a nutrient solution that flows gently around each plant giving them access to plenty of air, water and nutrients and increases yields by over 50%. It also prevents soil degradation, molds and pests because no soil is used.
