Hydroponic Greenhouse

In hydroponics a plant is grown without soil. When applied in a greenhouse setup plants can grow all year long. Hydroponic greenhouses yield bigger, better plants with little or no pesticides. The greenhouse makes it easy to keep the plants warm and in plenty of light.

Hydroponic literally means water working. The plants survive on a combination of light, temperature, carbon dioxide, oxygen, pH and nutrients supplied through water. The plants are grown on trays or in a growing medium such as a foam or gravel blend. Water is then supplied through reservoirs.

In a hydroponic greenhouse the water does not normally need to be heated very much due to the warm temperatures. The water is supplemented with nutrients such as nitrogen. The supplements can be in liquid or dry forms and can also be an organic blend. With plenty of sunlight coming in lighting is usually only needed during the winter or for starting seeds.
