Orchids are one of the most beautiful types of flowers known to exist. They are among the most spectacular addition one can make to a greenhouse garden, but often require a specialized degree of care. Watering orchids is often one of the most common problems with raising them.
The basic assumption about orchids is that since they are most commonly found in tropical locales that they must require a lot of water. However, with too much watering, orchids can die quite easily. The general rule of thumb is to water them only every 5-10 days.
This method of watering orchids does have some variations, depending on the particular type of orchid. Some orchids require a continuing supply of moisture at all times, while others only require that much water during growth periods. Other orchids can be allowed to completely dry out before watering.
