Greenhouse Supply

When people think of a greenhouse supply, soil, shovels, gloves and water come to mind, but the most important supply is sunlight which is what makes a greenhouse a greenhouse. They work because of the light that naturally comes in through the glass. Not only do plants turn that sunlight into energy with chlorophyll for their own use, but it also heats up the surrounding area making it warm inside even during winter.

Another basic greenhouse supply is water. Without water no plant can survive, although some plants can survive for years without any water but they are slow growing and not typically found in a greenhouse. Water in combination with the natural heat from the sun evaporates to create a pleasant humid environment that many plants absolutely love.

Of course, no greenhouse would be complete with an often overlooked greenhouse supply, good soil. It is never really overlooked, but most people don’t realize how much the soil will affect their plants. Local soils can be contaminated with metals and other chemicals, or be too acidic or basic to be effective. A good potting soil is necessary as well as an organic fertilizer such as manure.
