Greenhouse Lighting

The necessity of greenhouse lighting arises when your greenhouse can’t get the optimal amount of light that is required by the plants to grow naturally. In such cases the need to arrange for greenhouse lighting fixtures is the best possible solution. These artificial fixtures provides enough light that enables the plants to grow, flowers to bloom and fruits to ripe normally.

Types of Greenhouse Lighting Fixtures:

Florescent Lights: Florescent light is the best and cost effective way of lighting a greenhouse. The lights emitted by these bulbs are conducive to normal growth of plants and flowers. For best results place the bulbs about two inches from the plants.

HID: High Intensity Discharge lamps are best suited for bigger plants and flowers. The light emitting spectrum per square foot is much more as compared to other lights, thus benefitting the pants in absorbing more light.

Metal Halide Lamps: The light emitted through metal halide lamps is almost similar to the natural light, therefore it benefits tremendously in the vegetative growth of plants. Moreover, these lights also create favorable working environment in the greenhouse.

Sodium Lamps: These lamps emit yellow lights which benefits in the growth of flowers and fruits but not favorable to work in. These lamps are a bit expensive but as effective as florescent lamps.

Incandescent Bulbs: These bulbs are not the natural choice of greenhouse owners as they get hot and are not that effective as compared to the other light variants.
