A greenhouse thermostat is a device for regulating temperature on a system. The device controls the switch to heating and cooling equipment to maintain a constant set point.
When the temperature goes above the set point the cooling system is kicked on and remains on until the temp drops to the set point. If the temperature drops below the set point the thermostat in the greenhouse kicks on the heating systems and it too remains on until set point has been achieved.
Thermostats can also be set to switch on fans as well. For a frost free greenhouse a daytime temp of forty-one degrees needs to be maintained and a night-time temp of no less than thirty-six degree Fahrenheit. A greenhouse thermostat is a vital piece of equipment and will keep plants growing year round.
